PetsR.Us offers veterinarians website designs in a large variety of colors and animal selections. But, most of all, they offer veterinarians an organized and professional layout that consumers in the 21st century expect to see.

Many veterinary website developers seem to think that a veterinary website should look disorganized and “cutesy”. That is NOT the opinion of PetsR.Us veterinarian online marketing solutions’ designers and developers. PetsR.Us creates websites that bring the vet practice’s marketing presentation into the 21st century.

Of course, many veterinarian marketing companies will use the argument that vets are marketing to women and women love cutesy and disorganized – a “fun” look. However, when you remember that women working in administrative and professional positions are more likely to be the veterinarian’s “big” spenders when it comes to pet care, you’ll see that veterinary marketing is in need of a facelift. Veterinarians need to undergo the same marketing and image makeovers that dentists, chiropractors and the medical profession underwent decades ago.

Veterinary marketing needs to tell the veterinarian’s clients, “We are worth every dime that you spend with us because we are medical doctors for your pets (i.e., your “furry children”).”

As every veterinarian knows, 67% of the households in America have at least one pet. Add to that the fact that 80% of all American households have a computer and that 65% of all women 30 years and up go online at least once a week and you have the makings of a veterinarian marketing explosion. More and more veterinary practices are coming to the conclusion that, for veterinary marketing, online is taking center stage.

Because of that situation and the fact that so many so-called “website development” companies for veterinary website seem to have their design hats stuck in the 1990’s, PetsR.Us decided to create organized website solutions that offer more options than the other companies are offering without creating an oppressive marketing budget for veterinarians. To that end, PetsR.Us offers veterinarians a professional website AND an online enewsletter, a secure online ecommerce store, a classified ads service that allows local residents to place free ads on the veterinarian’s website, a link to the national PetsR.Us Forums, a comprehensive Resource Library for website visitors available in both English and Spanish, AND a unique service that allows pet owners who are mourning pets the opportunity to create online memorials by donating to the local humane society.

PetsR.Us, the comprehensive online marketing program for veterinarians and animal hospitals, has created what is surely the most unique program to encourage pet owners to donate to their local humane society chapters. The program, offered exclusively by PetsR.Us online veterinarian marketing clients, lets pet owners who are mourning the loss of a beloved pet the opportunity to create a lasting online memorial.

One of PetsR.Us’ clients, Dr. Gene Boysen of St. Cloud, MN, explains that when he revealed the program to the Tr-County Humane Society Director, she “was more excited than two dogs in a tennis ball factory.”

The program is very simple in design and concept. On Dr. Boysen’s website, their is a link to a Pet Memorials page. Their, visitors are shown how they can easily create an online Pet Memorial page for their hamster, dog, cat or cuddly boa constrictor. Then they simply click on the “Donate” button and enter what they would like their donation to be.

After they submit their donation, the Humane Society receives an email from PayPal stating that so-and-so has just sent them a donation. Included in that notice is the url or Internet location of the bereaved pet owner’s memorial page and the title of the memorial they would like entered.

The humane societies’ staff logs in to the Pet Memorial page on the veterinarian’s website and enters the title and link – a process that takes literally 2-3 minutes. In return, the humane society get the name and address of the new donor – thereby expanding their donor base. After a year, the memorial link is removed and the humane society contacts the donor for a regular contribution.

PetsR.Us makes the Pet Memorial page available only to their PetsR.Us veterinarian marketing clients. There is only one PetsR.Us veterinary client in any one town, city or metropolitan area. Therefore the “win” for the veterinarian hosting the Pet Memorials page is the hope that the humane society will be more likely to recommend the veterinarian to their new pet adopters because of the complimentary source of new donations the veterinarian provides.

In essence, the humane society wins, the bereaved pet owner wins and the veterinarian wins.

The mere mention of the PetsR.Us name or brand consistently brings a lot of questions:

Can you use that name or will you get in trouble with ToysRUs?

The answer is simply… Yes, we know it’s a very powerful and recognizable technique for name memorability, however, ToysRUs doesn’t own the naming technique, just the ToysRUs name. Since PetsR.Us doesn’t compete with ToysRUs in selling children’s toys, we are not in competition with ToysRUs.

In addition, the actual name of PetsR.Us is “PetsR” if you take it literally. The .Us is simply one of the international domain endings offered by GoDaddy and thousands of other Internet Registrars around the world. We simply combined the name and domain suffix to create the one-of-a kind PetsR.Us identity.

One thing is certain, pet owners, once they see the name, never forget it. And they never forget the veterinarians associated with the PetsR.Us identity. It’s simple, yet memorable. What more could a veterinarian adopting modern marketing techniques wish for?
